The My Ashtanga Yoga Practice mobile application (the "App") is published and operated by Rao Ventures LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
A. Personal Data You Provide
We do not require you to create an account, register, or provide personal information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use the App.
B. App Usage & Local Data Storage
All your practice settings (such as breath timing preferences, audio settings, and progress data) are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal practice data on external servers.
C. In-App Purchases & Subscription Processing
When you purchase a subscription or unlock premium features, transactions are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We work with a secure subscription management service (RevenueCat) to verify subscription status, validate purchase receipts, and restore purchases.
- We do not collect, receive, or store your credit card details or financial information; all payments are handled directly by Apple or Google.
- An anonymous, randomly generated identifier is used to associate and verify your active subscription status without linking it to your personal identity.
D. Diagnostic & Usage Information
To improve app reliability, stability, and user experience, the App collects aggregate, non-personally identifiable technical and usage data:
- Operational & Diagnostic Data: Collects aggregate diagnostic metrics (such as app launches, performance metrics, device model, and operating system version) to help maintain app stability and resolve technical issues.
- App Usage Data: Collects aggregate interaction trends (such as screen views and feature usage) to help us understand how features are used and improve usability.
We do not collect your name, email address, physical location, audio recordings, or private practice data through these services. Standard non-identifying crash and performance reports may also be collected by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) in accordance with your device privacy settings.
E. Apple Health (iOS)
On iOS, the App offers an optional feature to record completed practice sessions (such as start time, duration, and workout type) to Apple Health. This data:
- Is recorded only after you grant explicit permission through the system permission prompt.
- Is stored locally in Apple Health on your device; we do not transmit, receive, or store your health data on our servers.
- Is never used for advertising, marketing, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than logging your practice in Apple Health.
- Can be managed or revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → My Ashtanga Yoga Practice.
F. Google Health Connect (Android)
On Android, the App offers an optional feature to record completed practice sessions (such as start time, duration, and exercise type) to Google Health Connect. This data:
- Is recorded only after you grant explicit permission through the Health Connect permission prompt.
- Is stored locally in Health Connect on your device; we do not transmit, receive, or store your health data on our servers.
- Is never used for advertising, marketing, shared with data brokers, or used for any purpose other than recording your practice session to Google Health Connect on your device.
- Complies strictly with the Google Health Connect Permissions Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Can be managed or revoked at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Health Connect → App permissions → My Ashtanga Practice.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Save your practice settings and preferences locally on your device.
- Deliver and validate your active Pro subscription access.
- Monitor app stability, performance, and reliability across supported platforms.
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve app performance and usability.
- Record completed practice sessions to Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android) as Yoga workouts, solely with your explicit permission.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Third-party service providers assist us solely with subscription management and non-identifying diagnostic analytics to maintain app stability and deliver subscription features. Health data (Apple Health and Google Health Connect) is stored directly on your device and is never transmitted to, stored on, or accessed by our servers. No third-party advertising networks, marketing trackers, or tracking pixels are integrated into the App.
4. Children's Privacy
Our App is safe for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
5. Security of Your Data
Your data security is preserved by storing all user preferences locally on your physical device. You can clear all app data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage through your device settings.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the App's legal documentation and in our App Store / Google Play listings.
